A recent survey among business travellers revealed that 70 percent actually enjoy a business trip away from home. The survey, conducted by Club Class Chauffeurs, recently crowned Best Chauffeur Company in the UK, found that ‘time to themselves’ was what 50 percent of executives enjoyed the most about being away from home on a business trip. A further 42% said they enjoyed ‘meeting new people’ while 35% said ‘going somewhere different’ for business was very enjoyable.
That said, just over of half of respondents said that they found travelling away from home for business stressful, with ‘delays in transport’ (60%) and ‘dealing with work on return’ (40%) being the biggest offenders.
When asked what business travellers miss when they are away, 74% said they ‘miss their family’, closely followed by 70% ‘missing their own bed’.
Over the past 5 years, the impact of communication technology such as Skype, video conferencing and so on seems to have had only a ‘marginal’ effect on the frequency of business trips according to 50 percent of respondents, with one third saying they travel for business between 6 to 12 times a year, while 20% reporting that it can be up to three times a month.
Jonathan Dow, MD of Club Class Chauffeurs, said: “Fully understanding what our clients find stressful about travelling for business is important to us. Unsociable flight times combined with possible unforeseen travel delays can increase stress levels for the most seasoned traveller. That is why Club Class has invested in systems that anticipate potential delays, allowing for rerouting in plenty of time, as well as having vehicle tracking so that bookers and passengers know exactly where each car is at any time.”
Club Class Chauffeurs was crowned Best Chauffeur Company in the UK 2017 and continues to lead the way in the long distance corporate chauffeur sector, specialising in airport and seaport transfers.
